Botulinum toxin is a naturally occurring protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium Botulinum. In a purified form; as is the case with many drugs/medications such as Penicillin, Botulinum toxin is a very safe, effective treatment not only used in cosmetic clinics, but also for a number of medical conditions, including migraine and excessive sweating.

All botulinum toxins are prescription-only medicines (POM) and can only be prescribed by doctors, dentists and nurses with the prescribing qualification, following a face to face assessment and consultation with the qualified prescriber.

Botox® is a licensed brand of Botulinum toxin A. Other licensed brands include Azzalure®, Dysport®, Xeomin® and Bocouture®.

Botulinum toxins contain albumin, which comes from human blood. No cases of contamination of licensed botulinum toxin products with infectious diseases have been reported.

PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) is a leading non-surgical hair loss treatment and cell therapy for both men and women
PRP is a new and innovative hair loss treatment and cell therapy that requires no surgery but can help stimulate hair growth, repair, and regenerate damaged skin of all ages. It requires taking a small blood sample, less than what you would normally give when donating blood. This blood sample is harvested using the latest, most advanced technology and then injected back into your scalp where the hair is thinning or into the skin tissues in damaged areas. A few short treatment sessions are required and there is no aftercare needed for this procedure. PRP treatments tend to be 30 minutes and patients can go about normal activities immediately after. Want to learn more then get in touch to discuss whether it could work for you.

How does a PRP hair loss treatment work?

Firstly, blood is collected from the patient. Platelets are separated in a centrifuge and then they are injected into the scalp or face. It is as quick and as simple as that. To ensure that you do not feel any pain or discomfort, we use an exceptionally fine needle, called the invisible needle to carry out the treatment. Once treatment is done, you can return to work immediately as no sedation is required.

What to do before your Filler Appointment

To minimize the chance of bruising from the filler injection:

Do not take any aspirin, ibuprofen or similar products (Advil, Motrin, Aleve) for 1 week prior to filler.
Avoid fish oil, Vitamin E, and gingko biloba for 1 week prior to filler.
Eat spinach, kale and celery the week before to boost your levels of Vitamin K.
Avoid eating apples or large quantities of garlic before your appointment.

Additional Instructions:
Hydrate and eat a large meal before filler and bring a snack to eat right before the injection. It is important to have a full meal before a filler appointment.

Let us know in advance if you are on a prescription blood thinner.

After your filler appointment

The important DO NOTs after filler:
DO NOT work out the same day after the filler – the next day is okay
DO NOT have a massage with face down for two weeks after filler
DO NOT wear swim goggles for two weeks after filler around the eyes or cheeks
DO NOT put on Retin-A or strong Retinols the night after filler – okay to resume the day after
DO NOT take ibuprofen or aspirin for 36 hours after filler
DO NOT have an important social event for 10 days after filler – you will look your best after filler at 3-4 weeks after the injection

For a speedy recovery after filler injections:
Apply ice immediately after filler, we will supply your first bag
Cold gel packs are good too if the cool lasts for 20 minutes
Continue to ice for swelling and soreness for as long as necessary – especially in the morning
Take orally – VitaMedica Arnica and Bromelain which will help with swelling and bruising – take as long as these are a concern
Apply VitaMedica Recovery Cream to areas that are bruised or swollen

Best ways to maintain your new look

Stay hydrated – hyaluronic acid (Perlane, Restylane, Juvéderm, Voluma and Volbella) binds to water, the more hydrated you are the better you will look.

It is best not to go more than 6 months between filler appointments. By maintaining this schedule you will not only be able to maintain your look but also make continued improvements (when an adequate amount of filler are placed). After two years of this type of schedule, the majority of patients will require less filler per visit than during the first two years.

TREATMENT DESCRIPTIONS

Non-surgical Lip Enhancement is an extremely popular treatment that is suitable for anyone who would like fuller lips, or lip proportion correction.

How Does it Work

The dermal fillers are made of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid and are available in a range of densities so that we can create a soft and subtle luscious lip or a full voluptuous result. The results are immediate and last 6-15 months depending on which filler is used.

How is the Treatment Administered

We can numb you with lidocaine skin cream. Lidocaine is a local anaesthetic to ensure your treatment is totally pain-free. The dermal product is then injected into the lips with an invisible needle to ensure minimal discomfort and bruising, allowing us to sculpt the lips to the desired shape and fullness. In many cases, we can use a round, blunt-ended micro cannula to deliver the product to the entire lips with one tiny entry point either side of the mouth without the need to use any needles! The benefits of this are you are extremely unlikely to have any bruising afterwards as no needles are used in the lips.

Are There Any Side Effects

It is normal to expect some mild swelling post-procedure than can last 24-48 hours though using cold compress will relieve this. We use an exceptionally fine needle meaning bruising, if this does occur, is usually mild and transient. We can use blunt microcannulas (tiny tubes) instead of needles to administer the treatment that reduces the risk of any trauma, swelling, or bruising. Allowing you to immediately return to your daily activities. AFTER EVERY TREATMENT A FOLLOW UP APPOINTMENT IS AUTOMATICALLY BOOKED 2 WEEKS POST TO ENSURE YOUR DESIRED LOOK IS ACHIEVED.

Over time the face loses fat, causing the cheeks to become flat and saggy, giving way to a sunken-in look. Although some are born with naturally high cheekbones, achieving the look of sculpted cheeks can be accomplished through both nonsurgical and surgical treatments that focus on restoring plumpness, volume and definition.

How Does it Work

The procedure takes about 30 minutes and is virtually painless. Satisfaction among this procedure tends to be very high, and dependent on the fillers used the results can last as long as 18 months.

How is the Treatment Administered

To restore volume to the midface and recreate youthful contours, we can use dermal fillers. The filler used consists of a thicker hyaluronic acid – a substance which can be found in the body. Filler can be placed directly above the cheekbones and moulded to define natural cheekbone structure. They can also lift areas lower down such as the nasolabial folds.

The cause of the dark circle can be hereditary, stress, weight loss related or age-related and tends to occur where the loss of volume in the eye area, and in the cheek area leads to a sunken hollow eye socket and a deep indent where the lower eyelid meets the cheeks. This is called a ‘tear trough’. Dermal fillers specifically made for the under-eye area elevation and soften the appearance of tear troughs creating a brighter, fresher wide-awake look.

How Does it Work

Tear trough treatment involves the placement of dermal filler under the eye. The dermal fillers we use are made of naturally occurring hyaluronic acid which is non-animal-based in origin. When placed in the under-eye area they elevate a sunken tear trough and brighten dark circles.

Where there is a loss of volume in the tissues below the tear trough, replacement of this lost volume can also improve the appearance of the tear troughs and this is called an indirect tear trough method. An assessment is always carried out to ascertain your requirements, and decide on the best approach to suit you

How is the Treatment Administered

We use cannulas which are blunt-ended tiny tubes instead of needles to reduce any trauma to the area, meaning the procedure is comfortable, quick, and almost never causes any bruising. The benefit of this is that there is no downtime associated with the procedure, meaning you can go straight back to work and no one will know you had anything done!

Are There Any Side Effects

This is a very safe procedure when performed in expert hands. As we avoid the use of needles, there is rarely any bruising or downtime and 9 out of 10 people leave with no sign of having anything done. In the event that bruising does occur, it usually fades in a week or so and can be covered with make up the following day. High-density dermal filler can be injected supramasateric and subcutaneous to create a defined and sharpened Jawline and mandibular angle. Filler can be used to define, contour and augment the chin and jawline with a large Microcannula and only 2 entry points creating a razor-sharp jawline that can slice bread.

The dermal product is then injected into the jawline and chin with an invisible needle to ensure minimal discomfort and bruising, allowing us to contour the cheeks to the desired shape and fullness. we can also use ‘Fast-Healing’ techniques that utilise a Cannula to administer the filler for most patients, this results in much less swelling and bruising than older needle-based techniques.
